Southwood Medical Clinic will be closing its doors permanently on December 31, 2024.
Dr. Laura Bell is retiring from her office practice after 37 years, effective Dec 31, 2024.
She will be continuing to work part-time exclusively in Long Term Care, in the Comox Valley.
Dr. Asmaa Abdulkader will be closing her practice December 31 2024 as she will be leaving the Comox Valley.
She will be continuing to work elsewhere in BC.
Dr. Daniela Chifor will be closing her practice December 31, 2024 due to the closure of the Clinic as a whole.
She will be continuing her work in Long Term Care and Urgent Care in the Comox Valley.
All patient records will be securely stored and transferred to MedRecords, a non-profit company based in Vancouver.
It is strongly advised that patients either transfer their records to their new healthcare provider or retain a personal copy.

Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm
The Waitlist is open Monday to Friday at 6:00am and closes at 4:30pm
Saturday 8:30am and closes 12:30pm
Flu Shots
We strongly encourage all our patients to book a flu shot appointment through their pharmacy.
We are not able to hold a "Flu Clinic" nor book appointments for only a flu shot.
Telemedicine
Some regularly scheduled appointments will be conducted over the phone as well as in person at Southwood Medical Clinic. This allows us to significantly increase the safety for patients, physician and staff that work within our health care system. Zoom video appointments are available upon request.
